However, this is not exactly true.
First off, this is awesome news. Dollar Tree accepting coupons is a great thing for frugal shoppers, and hopefully it will encourage other dollar stores to follow suit. This is also great news for some vegans, which should have occurred to me when I first read about it.
You see, I was thinking more along the lines of the Dollar Tree stuff I usually report, which includes vegan finds that are suitable for any sort of vegan. This list typically includes off-brand vegan food items, such as frozen fruit, soy milk, flax seeds and the like -- the sort of things for which there are never coupons.
Why Dollar Tree Accepting Coupons is Good for Some Vegans
I seemed to have momentarily forgotten that there is a huge segment of the plant-based population who are vegan for environmental or health reasons -- not for animal rights reasons -- and these folks could potentially benefit from Dollar Tree accepting coupons.
The name brand items that can be found on dollar store shelves, and for which there are often coupons, usually include things like Dawn dish soap, Hefty bags, Lysol cleaning products and similar items. All of these are a no-go for animal rights vegans, but folks who follow a plant-based diet and are okay with using products from companies like P&G will find lots of great deals on household and personal care products.
Plus, other vegans should still bring their coupons along when they hit the Dollar Tree: You never know when there might be some name brand soy milk or other vegan goodness!
You can visit their website to read the Dollar Tree Coupon Acceptance Policy (and to check for updates).
