How to Stack Coupons

Print Friendly and PDF
Stacking coupons is a great way to save more when shopping for your vegan or vegetarian lifestyle. Most stores allow coupon stacking in some form, and combining coupon stacking with current sales is usually the most effective money-saving tactic for vegan shoppers (as well as for those shopping for vegetarian or organic products).

When you stack coupons, you use one store coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same product. Most grocery stores allow this. To see if your favorite store allows coupon stacking, check out this list of store coupon policies. If your store is not listed, check the store website or visit the customer service desk to obtain a copy of their coupon acceptance policy.

Here is an example of coupon stacking:

Let's say you have one vegan printable coupon for $1.00 off product X that you printed from the Whole Foods website. You also have a printable vegan coupon from the manufacturer for $1.00 off product X that you printed from Coupons.com.

Not all Whole Foods allow stacking, so the first step is to check with your local store to make sure stacking coupons is allowed. Once you have confirmed that that they allow coupon stacking, here is how your savings will look:

Product X Regular Price: $3.00
Whole Foods Coupon: $1.00 off
Manufacturer Coupon: $1.00 off
Final Price: $1.00
(total savings = $2.00)

To get an even better deal, you would wait to see if product X goes on sale before your coupons expire. If product X goes on sale, this is how your savings will look after stacking coupons:

Product X Regular Price: $3.00
Product X Sale Price: $.50 off
Whole Foods Coupon: $1.00 off
Manufacturer Coupon: $1.00 off
Final Price: $.50
(total savings = $2.50)

Now you just need to find some vegan coupons so you can start stacking! Click here to find out where to look for vegan coupons, vegetarian coupons, organic coupons and more.
