Okay, so yeah, I live near Seattle and the title of this post could easily be misconstrued as being somehow related to our extended (read: practically year-long) rainy season; however, I'm actually referring to the totally delish Sunshine Burgers I discovered a while back. Well, discovered as in the Columbus sense of the word...I stumbled across something that tons of people already know about and enjoy. But, don't worry, I didn't claim them for the motherland or anything, so if you want to get some, you're good to go.
Sunshine Burgers exude vegan awesomeness on so many levels -- not only are they vegan, but they are also soy- and gluten-free (unlike most veg burgers that are trying to be meat alternatives). These tasty little sunflower seed-based burgers say right on the box that they are not a substitute for meat patties, but rather a tasty vegan treat meant only to provide a healthier alternative to soy- and gluten-based veggie burger options.
The South West flavor is significantly spicier than I expected, but is definitely my favorite so far. I'm hoping to find the bbq flavor soon so that I can try that one as well. To read my full product review for Sunshine Burgers (Garden Herb and South West flavor), click here.
Oh, and did I mention they are organic? Seriously, you have to try these. They definitely rank among the best store-bought vegan, organic, soy-free, gluten-free burgers around. Once I am able to find the other two flavors and give them a try, I will report back.
